Applications for using your Illinois National Guard Grant for the 2008-2009 academic year are:

October 1, 2008 - Full Year Consideration
March 1, 2009 - Only 2nd Semester and Summer Consideration
June 15, 2009 - Only Summer Term Consideration

Applications are available through the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.

Search for Scholarships

There are many different scholarship searches on the Web these days. Here are a few sites we recommend you visit to assist in your search for scholarships to fund your college education.
Be cautious of any Web site which solicits credit card information or requests payment to process your scholarship application.

Military Grants

Illinois National Guard Grant (ING) — Available to eligible members of the Illinois Army and Air National Guard.
Illinois Veterans Grant (IVG) — Available to eligible Illinois veterans.

Teacher Scholarships

Illinois Future Teacher Corps (IFTC) – Available to students studying in a teacher shortage discipline and/or agree to teach at a hard-to-staff school, as defined by ISAC.
Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver (SETTW) – Available to academically talented students and current teachers (not certified in a special education discipline) to pursue careers in any area of Special Education.
Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) – Available to academically talented minority students to pursue careers as teachers.

You may only receive funding from one of the above-mentioned teacher programs (IFTC, SETTW, MTI) in any given academic year.

Miscellaneous State Scholarships/Grants

Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers – Available to the spouses or children of an Illinois police or fire officer who was killed or became at least 90 percent disabled in the line of duty.
Grant Program for Dependents of Corrections Officers – Available to the spouses or children of a State of Illinois Department of Corrections officer who was killed or became at least 90 percent disabled in the line of duty.
Illinois General Assembly Scholarship – Contact your State Senator or State Representative to be considered.
Illinois Reserve Officer's Training Corp (ROTC) Scholarship – Available to a full-time student enrolled in a Military Science course.
Nurse Educator Scholarship Program – Available to nurses and graduate students pursuing a career in professional or practical nursing education in Illinois.
