Scholarship Resource Office

If you are on campus, we invite you to visit our Scholarship Resource Office. We can provide you with resources to locate scholarships, give you helpful hints on applying for scholarships, and answer your questions regarding the scholarship process.

Begin your search for scholarships early. Many award application deadlines occur during spring for the upcoming fall semester. Begin your search around November for scholarships to help fund your education for the coming school year. If you are a high school student, we recommend you start your search for scholarships in your junior year.

 

Scholarship Notices

Women’s Division Margaret Wakeley Scholarship

The Women’s Division Margaret Wakeley Scholarship is given by the Women’s Division of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. They offer three scholarships in the amount of $2,000.00 in honor of Margaret Wakeley, the first President of their organization.

Students must be enrolled at Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, or Lincoln College, have a 3.00 or above GPA, be of senior status in 2009-2010 school year and be preparing for a professional career. The Thomas Eimermann Scholarship

The Thomas Eimermann Scholarship fund gives out $1,000.00 scholarship awards in the form of credits toward tuition and fee charges at Illinois State University to selected students participating in ISU's intercollegiate mock trial program. Recipients of these awards may continue to receive them for up to four years as long as they meet the awards eligibility requirements and continue to participate in mock trial competition for ISU.

 

The Friends of Donna Mauk Memorial Scholarship

The Friends of Donna Mauk Memorial Scholarship was established by Ed Warshaw and friends in May 2009. This scholarship is intended to help students who have lost a parent to cancer or are battling or survived cancer themselves. Donna Mauk lost her life to cancer in 2008. Although never a student at Illinois State University (ISU), she shared her life with an ISU grad (Steve Mauk, ‘80), and many of Donna’s friends were ISU alumni. Robert Noyce Scholarship

The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program at Illinois State University seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers in the Chicago Public Schools.

The program will provide stipends and scholarships for candidates enrolled in the Mathematics, Biological Sciences, and Chemistry Teacher Education programs. The award will cover the last two years of pre-service teacher education at Illinois State University making it ideal for current Illinois State students, community college transfers, and career-changing professionals.

In return, recipients will commit to teach for at least two years in a Chicago Public School (CPS) upon successful completion of their teacher certification through Illinois State University.

 

Attention Private Scholarship Recipients!

You are required to notify the Scholarship Resource Office of your awards. Please send your check or have your scholarship donor send your scholarship check to the Scholarship Resource Office address listed to the right. 

Disbursement of Private Scholarship Checks Policy

In the absence of instructions from the donor, our policy is to split all scholarship checks in half. Half of the award will be credited to your account for the Fall semester and half for the Spring semester. If you wish to have the award disbursed in a different manner, you must obtain a letter from the scholarship donor stating how they wish to have the award disbursed. The donor’s letter should be sent to the Scholarship Resource Office address listed to the right and sent Attention: Jennifer Fissel.

 

Recipients of ISU Foundation Scholarships

If you have been notified by your department or college that you are the recipient of an ISU Foundation award, please be aware that these funds are not available until after the 10th day of classes each semester. Processing time will take at least a week after the 10th day has passed for a refund to be generated, if applicable.
