Entrance loan counseling at Illinois State University is required for all new borrowers. Entrance counseling on the Web contains a session and quiz regarding your rights and responsibilities as a borrower under the Direct Loan Program. To meet this requirement, you must successfully pass the quiz at the end of the session and successfully submit the results to the Department of Education.
You must configure your browser as listed in the Web site help when you go to the entrance counseling on the Web site. Also, when you have completed the test, please make sure to complete the information at the end so Illinois State receives the information.

Your loan proceeds cannot be credited to your student account until you have successfully completed entrance loan counseling and a Master Promissory Note.
Exit loan counseling at Illinois State University is provided for all borrowers when their enrollment status falls below at least half time. When your enrollment status falls below half time, you will receive a packet of materials, a borrower information sheet for Direct Loans, an Exit Loan Borrower's Guide, a Federal Direct Consolidation Loan Program pamphlet and a return envelope for forms to be returned to our office.
