Office of Financial Aid

How Do I Find Out How Much I'll Get?

After your financial aid file is completed, your aid eligibility is calculated and awards are made. An Award Notice is then generated. It tells you the type of aid you can receive, and the amount per semester.

As a new student, you will receive an Award Notice when your initial awards are made. If any changes are made to your initial awards, including residency, dependency, housing status, or class level, we will send a Revised Award Notice to your Illinois State campus address. NOTE: Once classes begin, students will are notified of any changes via their campus e-mail address. You will be able to check on your financial aid status and awards by checking iCampus.

If you are a first time borrower, Entrance Loan Counseling (EC) and an Electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) are required. Loan funds cannot be disbursed until you have done both the EC and MPN.

Award Notices are mailed initially to incoming freshmen beginning April 1. Continuing students receive notification by May 1.
