Office of Financial Aid

How do I find out how much my student will get?

After a student's financial aid file is completed, aid eligibility is calculated and awards are made. An Award Notice is then generated. It tells a student the type of aid they can receive, and the amount per semester. The notice is only sent to the student. As a parent, if you want to know your students' aid eligibility, you must request the information directly from your student. The Financial Aid Office can not release this information directly to you.

New students will receive a letter when initial awards are made by telling him or her to check Welcome2ISU. If any changes are made to a student's initial awards, we will send an e-mail to the student's Illinois State e-mail address telling him or her to check iCampus. A paper copy may be printed from iCampus.

First time borrowers must complete both Entrance Loan Counseling (EC) and an Electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN). Loan funds cannot be disbursed until the student has done both the EC and MPN.

The residency, dependency, housing status, and the class level that is in the University database appear on the Award Notice. Should awards or status change, or the student receives additional awards, we will send an e-mail to the student to check the revised Award Notice on iCampus. Award Notices should be generated by early May for continuing students whose files are complete.
